Pretty Fences

Yesterday Ron & I were at RONA looking to buy some equipment / supplies for my house's front yard. By chance I saw these solid wood fences on sale for about $5. They were nice, sturdy and already stained. I thought it was a good deal so we bought their remaining stock, total of 8 sections. While we were installing them this afternoon, few neighbors passed by and gave nice comments. First it was a pair of mandarin speaking old couple, then it was a father with his daughter. The father actually thought we stained them ourselves. I went to Home Depot & plant centres for years now, I had never seen fences as nice. Hopefully no one (esp. kids around the block) come and take them.

Animal Crossing 2

Gloria came to visit acting like an angel with the yellow ring on her head.

By the way, that's my house you are looking at. Notice my ceiling to floor windows. It's BEAUTIFUL! haha...

Animal Crossing - DS

I have never been this addicted to video games until this past Christmas my bf (now fiance) bought me a DS. In case you don't know what's a DS, it's a portable Nintendo console. I am pretty sure you know what's a Game Boy, right? Well, a DS is an advanced version of it, so to speak.

To those that know about the game "Animal Crossing", I did something really stupid funny tonight and I just had to write about it.

I was bored waiting for time to pass so I was digging around for no reason with my shovel. I had always wondered if I dig a hole and not patch it up, would the hole stay there forever? So I was about to dig one to see and by chance Walker the dog passed by. I came up with the idea of digging around the dog to trap it! That way if I saw the dog somewhere else after a while, I would know the holes patched it by themselves!! It took me a while to dig holes around the dog faster than it walking. I did it finally. Just to be safe I even dig "few layers" of holes around those that trapped it. Below is the illustration:

Few moments later I was wandering around town and suddenly, I saw the dog also wandering around not too far away!! How did it get out??!?! I ran to the "scene" and saw all my holes still there! So I guess whoever that programmed this game was smart enough to not let people like me tortune the poor dog...

Flower Garden 2

Rubun was asking me to post some pictures. Here are some of them. These are the only blooms so far. Some kids actually thought they were weeds. Well I don't blame them as they just came out among the grass. Every year whenever I see them I know Spring is really here. These are one of the first flowers to bloom in Spring. They are very hardy plants but they don't last long.

Last night Ron also installed a support fence for the roses. Hopefully the branches will grow "up" instead of sideways.

Flower Garden

Trash has been gathering between the shrubs and plants in front of my house during the whole winter. Finally the weather today permits me to do some cleaning after work.

Last summer my brother & I paid $100/month to have someone water and maintain our lawn. It was fine until one day the gardener decided to throw out all my pot plants which took me the entire summer to grow. In fact one of them was a rare plant that I wanted for a while but was always too expensive to buy. Eventually I found a good deal and bought one home. It didn't even lasted 3 months. I was so piss I almost cried.

This summer Ron & I have decided to take care of the lawn ourselves. So today I spent 2.5 hours clearing all the garbages, pulling out some of the weeds, trimming the rose branches, planting 4 new flower bulbs, and getting rid of some dead leaves.

It's a lot of work to upkeep a garden but I enjoy it a lot. It gives my mind a good rest and an opportunity to be artistic. Hopefully my flowers will bloom nicely this summer.

Banquet Hall

I cannot sleep.

I keep on telling myself it's just a banquet hall.
It's nothing big if I look at it in a long run.

I still can't sleep.

I am spending nearly $30K on such an event, once in a life time. I want it to be as close to my dream banquet as possible.
I must have spent at least 2 months worth of off work hours to search through websites, visit locations, punching calculator, scratching my head trying to figure out the best combination of style, food quality and price.
I can't find what I want but I still need to pick one.

I can't sleep.

My dad lectures me a couple of times about how a wedding should focus on glorifying God and thanksgiving. I can't agree more, but that doesn't take away the fact that I have to pick a decent banquet hall. At least I have to find one that can bring a smile to my face. I don't think God wants to see a bride that just wants to get it over with.

I can't sleep.

We are suppose to finalize our decision this weekend after seeing our last 2 options. Our time is running out and most of the nice banquet halls are already fully booked.
I want to give up hosting one but I don't think I can get away with this easy.

I can't sleep.

I can't sleep.

I really can't sleep.

The Ring

It's more than just a ring.
It's even more than just a diamond ring.

I've seen friends receiving it, wearing it, and the smiles on their faces. Now I realize it's not that simple. It's light on my finger, but it draws deep into my heart. It carries a promise of liability & responsibility. And when I accept it the promise lands on my shoulder to honor it.

I see myself different.
No words can describe how it is.
I am not the same even to myself.

Engagement

This past week I have been very busy at work. Yesterday projects were pouring in. Today everybody was already asking me for all kinds of reports. I hardly had anytime to eat. I was so stressful and busy that a 2:30pm meeting was prospond till 4:50pm. Obviously by the time it was over it's already well pass 5:30pm. That meeting was actually a meeting with the merchandise assistant, and the only reason a MA wanted to see me would be passing me even more stuff to do. So after the meeting I thought I really should just sit at the office till 10pm to at least catch up some work. However my boss told me to go home, plus JK & Glor called me out for dinner so I decided to deal with the mess tomorrow instead. Little did I know that ron was already waiting outside my house. Little did I know that he got me a big bunch of beautiful flowers. Little did I know, that he was going to propose, this very night.

Thank you everyone that came to dinner to congratulate and celebrate our engagement with us. I was tired from work but this was definitely a very nice surprise.

Thank you my dearest for spending so much effort and heart in preparing a special evening for me. You always manage to pull a surprise on me so well.

After the dinner, Ron came to my house for some quiet time. Before he left we had a prayer together.

Thank you God for giving me such a wonderful man. I couldn't ask for anything more. He is better than anything I can imagine, and still improving everyday. May we continue to be a blessing to brothers and sisters around us, and daily testimonies to those that have not believed. Amen.
